Pillar 1 – Solutions: Innovating while controlling our impact

At Unither, we develop healthcare solutions that combine innovation with responsibility. From the earliest design stages, we integrate medical, social, and environmental criteria to better meet patient needs while limiting our footprint.

Our core business is built around the production of unit doses, relying on a key material: plastic. When used responsibly, plastic helps ensure patient safety, sterility, and broad access to treatments.

Key commitments:

• Design responsible products supported by comprehensive environmental documentation (LCA, eco-score, recyclability).

• Identify and replace materials of concern (PFAS, mineral oils, TiO₂, etc.) with safer alternatives.

• Foster sustainable innovation through the InnoSphere ecosystem and an ESG scorecard embedded in our projects.

Pillar 2 – Plants: Reducing our impact

We measure and reduce our environmental footprint at every stage, from raw materials to finished products.

A comprehensive carbon footprint assessment (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) conducted across all our sites enables us to target priority actions and steer our decarbonization strategy in line with SBTi standards.

Key levers:

• Optimization of sterile unit-dose formats (Blow-Fill-Seal).

• Control and reduction of energy consumption (ISO 50001 objective).

• Closed-loop material recycling initiatives (e.g. LDPE recycling at Gannat).

Pillar 3 – People: Developing talent

We place people at the heart of our sustainable performance by fostering a safe, inclusive, and meaningful working environment.

Our commitments include:

• Training, professional development, and responsible management practices.

• Promotion of gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.

• Respect for fundamental rights (code of conduct, harassment prevention, non-discrimination).

Pillar 4 – Community: Embedding ourselves in a responsible ecosystem

We build long-term partnerships with our suppliers and local stakeholders by integrating ESG criteria into every purchasing decision.

Concrete commitments:

• A responsible purchasing policy shared with our partners (see Unither’s Purchasing Charter).

• Integration of social, environmental, and ethical criteria in supplier selection.

• Targeting an EcoVadis Silver medal by 2026.

• Objective to join the UN Global Compact by 2026.
